STEAMS Specialized meets on Wednesdays from 9-245 in Nelson. What is STEAMS Specialized? It's a very small class of unique individuals who like to work on their own projects with guidance from a teacher and teacher aid. Here, one student is make a hobby horse while another made crutches with arm holders out of cardboard tubes while another creatively uses recycled electronic pieces to make sculptures.Math? Literacy? You bet! Students play games that require them to estimate fractions, decimals, percents or write stories on an 'old fashion' typewriter.
